MISO Project Showcased at Emerging Technologies for NetZero Conference

At the Emerging Technologies for NetZero Conference, held at Ulster Museum and organized by the EPSRC eFutures Network+, Professors Trung Q. Duong and Vishal Sharma from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) presented cutting-edge innovations resulting from the MISO project. Their research focused on utilizing UAV-aided peer-to-peer (P2P) communications to facilitate greenhouse gas detection in remote and challenging areas, such as the Arctic and wetlands.

During their talk, Prof. Duong and Prof. Sharma highlighted the role of machine learning in real-time optimization for 6G networks, showcasing the MISO in-situ observation platform. This platform leverages advanced UAV technologies to detect greenhouse gases in hard-to-reach regions, contributing significantly to global efforts in environmental monitoring. Their presentation also touched on other impactful projects, including Newton Fund initiatives focused on mission-critical communications.
