Senseair is a leading global provider of gas sensing technology. With over 30 years of experience, and about 200 employees, Senseair has become the centre of excellence in the field of non-dispersive infra-red (NDIR) technology. Senseair develops and produces small, low-power and cost-efficient mid-precision sensors for a wide range of applications such as indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring. Senseair has a long tradition of collaboration with both academic and industrial partners, and is always aiming to apply the newest technologies to its products.
Senseair has recently developed a new compact mid-precision 3-channel NDIR sensor, so called K96, which aims to become a game changer for reliable and cost-effective GHG monitoring applications. This new prototype enables to measure simultaneously CO2, CH4, and N2O concentrations with sub-ppm resolution together with environmental parameters (T, P and RH). In MISO, Senseair will optimize its new sensing platform to ensure a seamless integration in sensing units for the different use cases defined in the project, i.e. continuous in situ CO2 and CH4 concentration monitoring, CO2 and CH4 flux quantification using automated flux chamber and UAV monitoring. New features like thermal stabilization will be implemented to improve the stability of the sensor and allows its deployment in harsh and cold environments. To improve the capability to measure low CH4 concentrations, we will combine for the 1st time a NDIR sensor with a micro pre-concentrator to be developed by QUB.
Through the MISO project, Senseair will pursue the K96 development and move towards the commercialization of a robust, high precision and cost effective multi-gas sensor.
